British Soccer Camp Adds a New Dynamic to Traditional Soccer Camp
Summer camps are great ways to keep your children from being bored and give moms a break for a few hours a day. However, the British Soccer Camp by Challenger Sports is far more than just a camp that occupies and entertains children. The difference? Your child will be extremely active, learn soccer skills, will be encouraged beyond what you can imagine... all while having a blast.
Options of British Soccer Camp
British Soccer Camp is a camp that teaches soccer but more importantly, good sportsmanship. My son learned far more than I imagined he would in such a short amount of time. Challenger Sports' British Soccer Camps offer half day and full day programs. My son attended the half-day programs from 9 AM to 12 PM each day for one week.
Challenger Sports brings experienced young men and women from the United Kingdom just for the soccer camps. The coaching staff shows up each day with positive attitudes and a ton of patience. I watched as each coach's positive personality became contagious to each camper. I would say the coaches kept everything orderly, expected positive attitude and respect from each of their campers while still making everything fun.
Learning More Than the Basics
Techniques my son learned did not stop at the basics. Campers learned an array of soccer skills such as the Scissors Move, Fake Kicks, Hook Turns, the Ronaldo Chop, and the Cruyff Turn (to name a few).
Competing for the World Cup
At the beginning of the week, campers were divided into teams. Each team is given a country that they represent for the week. Throughout the week, points are given to each team for various drills, competitions, games, and even just participation and positive attitudes. At the end of the week, the two teams with the highest amount of points, play against each other in the "World Cup". The sense of humor these guys and gals bring is loved by all the kids! The trophy for the week was simply a ball on a cone with a jersey over it. The campers did not care that they were not given "awards" because it was all for fun! The laughs during the awards ceremony are worth far more than any trophy!
The coaches assign each day as a special day with ways for the campers to earn points for their team. For example, Tuesday was Trivia Tuesday where campers had to bring interesting facts about their team's country. Wednesday was Wacky Wednesday where campers dressed as crazy as the could. Thursday, campers were to bring their country's flag... homemade. Friday was Fun Friday. If you have never tried Challenger Sports' British Soccer Camp, you are missing out!
